Why me?

I think we probably ask ourselves this question a lot, as we go through life. Why me?

Why am I the one who has to do pick up after everyone else?
Why am I so fortunate to be living in Canada, while halfway across the world, people do not even have enough food for the rest of the day?
Why am I the one who has so much trouble focusing in school, when everyone else seems to be doing it so easily?
Why do I get to go to school and study and have a great future?

Most recently, my question has been 'Why am I so lucky to be able to witness God's hand at work overseas?'
We don't really deserve any of the blessings that we have. Correction: we don't deserve any of the blessings that we have. These are all gifts that our Heavenly Father has lavished on us. So I guess to kick off my first blog post, I just wanted to give praise to God for how much He has given all of us, because we are all blessed.

As I continue writing about my blog, I'm not really sure if anyone is planning on reading this. But I know that there are so many times that I completely overlook how God has been working in my life, so I thought that it would help to be able to just write down the ways in which He is working through this process, so that one day, I can bug everyone will endless stories of 'This time in Bolivia, I ate this and this', or 'This OTHER time in Bolivia, I met this girl, and she did yada yada yada' or 'This is the last one. I promise. But this one time in Bolivia, God was working through this person, and taught me this and this lesson'.

I've never really put much effort into writing blogs before, so I'm kind of excited to see how this will pan out. This won't only be a collection of stories of Bolivia, but also things that God has been teaching me in His Word, funny things that I think up (which, by the way, are a LOT), and other random things. My hope is that although it may be a bit messy, God will be speaking and working in His own way. But a final thing to remember:

"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit'- yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.'"- James 5:13-15
